Posters
If you choose to design the posters yourself, rather than using our Criterion’s custom designs, it is important that you follow these basic design specifications in order to ensure that your final printed piece looks as you intend.
PREPARING YOUR FILES FOR PRINT
If you choose to use Criterion’s custom designs, read no further. However if you are designing your posters yourself, you should keep in mind the following specifications to ensure the images and fonts display and print correctly.
Most printers will accept a high resolution PDF (Portable Document Format), which can be created from the native design application such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop.
- Turn off image compression and downsampling options.
- Make sure the images are saved as high res 300 dpi and are in CMYK color mode (images lower than 300dpi, will appear fuzzy when printed, even if they display sharp on your computer screen).
- Images are embedded in the final file.
- Fonts are embedded or outlined.
- Bleed and crop marks are included with the final PDF.
